I found that making this Women's History Libguide was very rewarding. I think that students would learn so much about the research process with this aid. We covered the Information Search Process (with pictures and links of model), topic and thesis aids, and citing of various media types. I thought that touching on social media was a good idea for students of this age; they could use something familiar to search with. I also thought that a picture of Kuhlthau's ISP model is very helpful to refer to. It definitely works for me. I enjoyed using mentorbob to create a slideshow of sources for citing references. I found great information to share with middle schoolers. I loved finding videos about Women's History, and think that there should be some entertainment factor in the libguide. I especially liked the Lady Gaga video parody that Amelia found! I decided to add an "Afterthought" tab to the libguide. I know that these students are in middle school, but I feel that if they started thinking about volunteering in areas that they are passionate about, great things could happen. Once again, I had a great time making comics. And, working with Amelia is really a treat. We would make such a good team.. :)
